Pictures with ... everybody!

While we sat and chatted in the living room, Daddy took Sarah's picture with Grandma G. How cute! Then Sarah decided to have her picture taken with everyone else, including ...

Grandpa G ...

Aunt Ellaina ...

Mommy and Lucas ...

... and Daddy. What a camera queen!

Taco supper and birthday gifts

Erin made everyone a great taco supper, followed by the princess cake and some cupcakes made by Grandma G.

Then we opened presents! Sarah opens a gift from Grandma and Grandpa G.

Sarah is playing a little pink piano given to her by mommy and daddy.

Aunt Ellaina even got in on the piano playing!

Ellaina and Erin ... seestahs-in-law!

A little TV

After all the partying, the fans of "Grey's Anatomy" headed down to the family room to watch tonight's episode of the show.

Grandma G and Sarah watched the show, too!

Our new ride

Erin and Lucas got their wish this past week when we traded in our 2004 Toyota Sienna with 80,000 miles for a lightly used Ford Flex Limited (not to be confused with a flex-fuel vehicle). It came to us with 5,500 dealer miles on it, and a great rebate. We like it! It has seating for seven, a sunroof or roof skylight for every occupant, and Rich likes the Sync radio that allows you to talk to the car to make or answer phone calls and play your music ... hands-free functionality that lets you keep your eyes on the road instead of your phone or iPod. It will be our car for the next 8 to 10 years, God willing.

Look out, Lance Armstrong!

Sarah got her birthday present a little bit early today ... her first bike! She saw it yesterday with mommy, and today daddy went back with her to buy it. She can pedal a little bit and steer a little bit, just not both at the same time! Give her a week or two...

Sarah's bike is a blue Trek, the same brand as Daddy's bike!

Sarah and mommy. Sarah's great-grandma Myrtle contributed money toward Sarah's new bike. Thanks, Nanny. We love you!

Mommy had a rotten day at work today, so helping Sarah learn how to ride her bike was a good thing...

The Three Amigos!

Sarah, mommy and that silly kitty, Moby, were all watching one of Sarah's videos together, so daddy had to take a picture.

Erin nuzzles up to Moby. That crazy cat LOVES to sit in Sarah's old high chair!

Messy-face (can you see the greasy chin from her buttered noodles?)

Go, Caleb, go!

Caleb only has about two more weeks of hockey left this season, and tonight we went to all went to his game at Osseo (except for Lucas, who stayed home feeling a little sick). Caleb's Pirates team lost 8-2, but it wasn't for a lack of cheering from Sarah, who brought her pom-poms.

The two best-looking cheerleaders in the building!

Sarah and her friend Isabella hollered through the plexiglass at Caleb. (Yep, that's him over there on the left, we think.)

Sarah takes a timeout for a bite of candy.

Go, Caleb, go!

A couple more ...

"Daddy, let go!!" Sarah got her arm "stuck" in the popcorn box!

Hockey mom and dad.

Luuucy ... you got some 'splaining to do...

Lucas recently got to purchase a hamster with some money he'd saved. Her name is Lucy, and she lives in a cage in his room and likes to run on her exercise wheel ... really FAST!

Feeling spring-y

We're just waiting for spring to arrive around here. The snow from our last snowstorm is melting away fast today, and Sarah decided to celebrate by breaking out some of the spring outfits mommy got on sale recently. Here's "her favewit."

Sarah's tent

With the boys gone for the weekend and mommy at work, Daddy needed to find a way to keep Sarah busy while he cleaned the house. The answer ... SARAH'S TENT! She watched "Angelina Ballerina" nice and quietly while Daddy toiled away.

Here's a pic from a month ago when Erin's parents, Lloyd and Kathy, were in town to visit. Erin and her dad got busy and put a whole bunch of new shelves in Lucas and Caleb's room. Aren't they cute?!

Would-be prez

Who knows, someday Sarah could become Commander-in-Chief!

Or mommy.

Or Daddy ... not with that mug.

Paying the price

Moby enjoys sitting in Sarah's rarely-used booster chair, but there was a hidden cost. He had to withstand Sarah's desire to dress him up with her winter hat!

"What have I done to deserve this?"

In the penalty box

Sarah had to help Daddy run the penalty box at Caleb's most recent hockey game. We only had one of Caleb's teammates commit an infraction and join us for two minutes, otherwise we had the box to ourselves and had a great view of the game. Caleb's team lost to Wayzata, though, 5-0.

Christmas in Jamestown, ND

Since Erin had to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we delayed our departure to visit family until Christmas NIGHT! We spent a couple of days with Erin's parents and her sister's family in Jamestown, ND. Right when we got there, the boys wanted to open their presents ... Seemingly five minutes later, they were finished. Here's Noah showing Sarah one of her presents.

"Dang, getting that last item out of the stocking toe is HARD!"

"Look what I got, Rich!"

Jamestown had a lot more snow than the Twin Cities. So much so, that Erin and Caleb spent two hours building a snow fort in the deep snow right outside Lloyd and Kathy's front door.

Sarah woke up the next morning and sat with her great-grandma. Myrtle got a ride down from Minot from Lloyd and Kathy for the holidays.

Christmas in Jamestown, Part 2

These two little cuties were virtually inseparable during our visit! Sarah calls Peyton "my girlfriend," and Peyton calls Sarah "my new best friend." They had so much fun playing together.

Sarah and Peyton received matching mini-vans!

Zane worked hard to get on Harley's good side.

Noah helped Aunt Libby figure out iTunes.

The Two Amigas take an ice-cream break.

Visiting Aunt Libby's

Aunt Libby and Uncle Brian invited everyone over to their house in Jamestown for a night of pizza and visiting. Even before we all got inside the house, Sarah took Peyton back to her room and they put on a couple of Peyton's princess outfits!

Kathy and Erin with Chester the dog.

Nanny Myrtle with six great-grandkids.

Awwww. Sarah and Peyton love their nanny!
